The day includes networking, hacking, and workshops.
Calling all programmers, designers, problem solvers, and anyone with an interest in both technology and international development! Participants from all technical backgrounds are welcome and there is no entrance fee for the event. Workshops will be held for both beginners and the more advanced! There will also be mentors present throughout the hackathon.
Only current students can attend the event, including college students, grad students, etc.
The International Development Hackathon solicits projects from NGOs, nonprofits, and government organizations operating in the international development and social impact space, and teams of hackers (including programmers, designers, and anyone else with an interest in social impact) work together to develop creative solutions to the problems pitched at IDHack. All participants are also welcome to work on their own project, but are encouraged to take advantage of the expertise of people in the organizations presenting.Multiple teams can work on each project, and teams should be at most 5 people. We encourage you to meet and work with people from other schools!
IDHack also encourages companies and organizations to submit APIs and platforms for ID Hack. If your company would like to promote an API or platform, contact us at directors.idhack@gmail.com.

Projects at ID Hack will be judged by experts at Harvard, MIT, and Tufts with experience in computer science and/or international development.

Sustainability | Is the project sustainable within the unique contexts of the community it is aiming to impact? Does your project consider the complexities of that community's culture, societal structures, traditions, and challenges? |
Innovation | Is the project solution creatively and effectively address the project problem? |
Impact | How does the project make social impact? |
Design | Is the project well-thought out and designed? Could the project work well within the complexities and constrains of developing in an international context? |
